how does this happen (and it does happen) these disparate but common elements, different coloured pieces of glass ending up together?
your title, i love it. but who is trying to escape and from which side? it would be easy to think that perhaps the glass is trying to escape from this side of our world but perhaps something else is trying to escape from non-existence into existence?
